With the two new animated series it opens a whole new avenue of possibilities. With cheaper production cost simplistic cartoon quality we could see whole new series becoming the mainstream content of Star Trek. They have already made two animated series that the fans have excepted as cannon grade content regardless that the series were designed to be parodies.
Fans wish to see a fifth season of Enterprise But given there has been 17 going on 18 years sense the series was cancelled. It would be unrealistic to have the original cast come back to play their characters in the star date 2161 in a real series, but it can happen in an animated series. As there only needs to be a voice over to the characters the production cost would be minimal, and the amount of content tripled. Think about it instead of 10 episodes a year we could have 54 episodes a year! A New episode each week we would have Klingons, Andorians or Orion characters without having the costly makeup or hours spent in the makeup chair for the actors. No more torturous hours in makeup. With the aid of Acritical intelligence, the art and production time would be minimal, and the creators could have multiple teams producing the content no more limited time for use of actors even the voice overs could be reproduced by a AI.
Think about it we could have T'pol back even if Jolene Blalock does not wish to act any more the possibilities are endless.
The fifth season could start out with the whole crew being charged with the countless crimes they committed in the expanse. First we need to address the backstabbing of the fans with Trips death! It could be resolved with easy in light fantasy unrealistic technology already in cannon history!
To repeat my past dilutions to resolve Rick Berman and Brannon Braga evil doings.
Say T,pol in 2161 emotionally distraught by the death of Trip Tucker used the transporter to dematerialize Tuckers dead body then rematerialize him using the last Transporter buffer pattern of Tuckers last rematerialization. He would simply walk out of the transporter thinking he is just returning from the mission with no memory of his death or the days after his first rematerialazation. She along with the whole crew least Archer infiltrates the decommissioned Enterprise and takes it to the far side of Orion and Romulan space.
Given the bigotry the Vulcans have for humans and the history in canon of Truckers and T'pols half breed children (Elizabeth and Lorian) along with T'pols out of control emotions that the Trellium-D addiction has unlocked. T'pol is branded on Vulcan as an outcast. The Federation labels her an outlaw for breaking transporter ethics laws which leads the whole crew fleeing to the outskirts of the Orion syndicate on the far side away from Federation space. T'pol and crew becomes Romulan smugglers who raid Orion colony's rescuing Orion captive slaves and smuggling them to freedom. As a cover she and her human slave Trip and their augment half breed female child T'Mir to whom was made possible with Dr. Phloxs clone research from the failed Elizabeth clone and the augment research from his Klingon augment research.
Having a base on a waste dump planet like Writer David Webb Peoples 1998 movie Soldier with Kurt Russel. recycling waste with the use of Transporter technology make resources and have a base of operations in plain sight. T'Pol would rescue enough federation people to crew the Enterprise and seen them back to Earth with the Enterprise ship. The outlaw's would steal a Romulan bird of prey and there in bring about the new series RenegadeDragon would be born with T'Pol, Trip and T'Mir in 2181 aboard the Romulan warship RenegadeDragon a bird of prey with a mismatched crew of Vulcans, Romulan, Andorian, Orion, Denobulan and Klingon. The Species that could make up the crew is endless and given it is all animation the cost to have a huge diversity in minimal.
Yes the Cannon fans are going to go batshit crazy of cannon history but given their limited education in multiverse theory and theories of time traveling paradoxes their outrage has no merit. We could see a whole new era of content with new content every week multiple series a never ending saga with a main historic timeline much like many other TV series.
Just some thought would you be interested in 54 new episodes a year in an animated series format or are you content with 10 a year with the likely possibility of cancelation dew to cost and leak of viewership?
I personally want the ongoing romance back.
