I know like what? It started on D&D Beyond in which I made posts referencing that there are mutable editions of the game out there to play. I was tagged and then banished for recommending Pathfinder. I laughed as the forum was populated with Wizard of the coast people. and I started noting that whole posts and threads were being deleted. People just stopped posting (banned for speaking out against wizards of the cost). A host of new accounts those who got banned coming back with a new account name only to be banned once more.
The war I speak of is that those people who work for wizard are on Pathfinder. I received a letter a couple days ago I just read it yesterday stating all of my posts were red-flagged I wrote back that the red flag button was being abused because my posts did not violate any of the terms of use or they would have been removed and I would have been banned.
As it stands if I were to post in the Pathfinder forum again all of my posts would continue to be red-flagged. I responded to the e-mail stating feel free to remove my posts and that I would no longer post on their site. I wished them the best of luck with their game. I transferred one of my threads to this site it's here some where.
I get people being passionate about Dungeons and Dragons and the whole Role Playing Game community. The us vs. them is indoctrinated into us when we are young. I am only speculating as to who is red-flagging my posts, but I do know if all of them were tagged they want me off the site and are going to make the monitors lives miserable tell they relent to the on slot of over whelming red-flags and simply banish me.
I made all of two threads and both were moved one was edited. They were not deleted like what wizards did but still I stopped making threads when they edited my post.
So in the end the trolls won and they can gloat. They become in powered, emboldened and they will now step up the game because they know if they click that red-flag button enough times people get banned. I was not banned I chose to walk away.
Best of luck with your endeavors.
